and Robin Wallace |
|
| Robin and Darrell married in June 1980. Darrell's family has a rich history in the Lord's church in Kentucky. Robin became a Christian in 1980 after they married. They have two children who are both faithful Christians: Denisha, 22, a graduate of Western Kentucky University; and Caleb, 17, a senior in High School. In 1987 they enrolled into Sunset International Bible Institute, Lubbock, TX. Darrell graduated from the two-year preaching program. Robin graduated from the women's and the deaf programs in June of '89. Afterward, they were able to go back to Kentucky. Their first work was with the Center church of Christ from 1989 - 94. From there they moved just a few miles in 1995 to Park City, KY to work with the Mt. Vernon church of Christ, their present work. In January 2000, Darrell joined Mid-South Bible Institute, Glasgow, KY (a certified satellite school of SIBI, est. 1998) as one of its administrators. MSBI is one of SIBI's most successful satellite schools, now averaging 65 students in attendance, but it has had as many as 90 enrolled. Through the years, he has been involved in several domestic and international short-term mission efforts. Internationally, these include Scotland, Russia, Haiti and Ukraine. In January 2002, they were invited by SIBI to consider a commitment to Athens, Greece to work with the Athens International Bible Institute, a Branch school of SIBI. Accepting the invitation, they now plan to leave for Athens for a few years beginning July 2004. Until then, they will be involved as often as possible with the work in Athens, building a team of workers to minister with them, and raising their support. The Mt. Vernon eldership will be overseeing their work. Roles Of The Wallaces’ Work In Athens:
Their aim is to teach God's word in a way that God may empower, enable and equip sound spokesmen for the Lord that they may empower, enable and equip others through God’s Word as they go. |
