Cuba Graduation – A.I.B.I. NEWS – May 2004

The graduation of 29 Cuban students/preachers on May 6, 2004 was the most fantastic event in the history of the churches of Christ in Cuba! This graduation was the first OFFICIAL and NATIONAL graduation among our brothern in Cuba. In the history of the churches of Christ in Cuba since 1935, no graduation has been officially and nationally approved under a communist government. GOD HAS ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS!!

The graduation ceremony was attended by more than 95 individuals. Present were officials from the government's

Counsel of Churches, government officials from the Communist party,representatives from Sunset International Bible Institute, representatives from Healing Hands International, officials from the Caribbean International Lectureships and other honored guests. Following the graduation ceremonies, there was a banquet in honor of the graduates. 

These men have completed the first level of Biblical Studies through Atlantic International Bible Institute in Miami, Florida. Many of them will continue on in a second level of study that is presently being developed, and some will even attain AlBl's highest level of recognition, a diploma in Biblical and Ministerial Studies. This latter project is planned to be accomplished by the end of 2006.

 

AlBl has been directly involved with the work in Cuba for the last three years, and has successfully completed the first phase. The second phase of our work, already underway, involves training four men to become the first instructors in a Bible institute that the Cuban church hopes to establish in La Habana. As this second phase continues to develop, AlBl has committed its resources to a second level of seminar instruction. It is our prayer that these plans and other activities will honor and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

We want to express our deep appreciation to all the churches and individuals who have participated in this effort. Please continue to pray for the final and most difficult phase – a Bible institute, administered and directed locally by men that the Lord is presently raising up.
